Age: 12ish
Canon: Jealous of Roses
History: Pip is Zephyr’s daughter. Anything one may presume as far as the closeness of their ages go is true. A long story short, Pip’s mother is a monstrous charlatan sorceress willing to harm her devotees in the interest of furthering her own ends. Pip managed to escape her she was about four. She has been training to work as a bodyguard/hitperson since she was seven and is deeply dedicated to furthering her education even if her teachers will have changed.
Mutation: Telepathy, touch-based, focused on present thoughts. She can't go digging around for memories, but if someone remembers while she's touching them, she'll experience the memory herself. New contacts usually require a learning curve before she can interpret their information well, and some people will always read better than others. Pip also has colloidal nerve enhancements which increase her sensitivity in this regard, as well as his sense of touch. These appear as silver webbing over much of her skin. Though it's not clear if this is part of her ability or not, Pip also has the ability to briefly mimic the mannerisms of someone often thought of by someone she's well-acquainted with.
Price: Pip's price is much different than her father's: her heart goes out to anyone she touches for an appreciable amount of time, no matter how disturbed or wicked they may be, no matter if she's touching them with the knowledge that she has to use or kill them. This can and does wear on her quite a lot, especially in light of her desire to protect people she cares about. Not that it hasn't stopped her from offing people in her native story.
Personality:Balance of thinking and feeling: outgoing, determined and sprightly. Pip's goal in life is to be the party paladin, so to speak. She wants her own adventure, but she also wants to be the person who protects her friends. Sometimes, these aspirations are at odds which causes her no end of consternation.
Pip can and will carry on with other people. In fact, she's liable to try just about anyone she meets. She's not as demanding about touch, but she can still get pesty about that or things she wants to happen. Or has suddenly decided that she needs to explore right now- there's very little she does that she won't dive into, nose first and giggling.
She has very little if any capacity for fear. It's not an alien concept to her, but it's also not something she experiences personally. Pip would sooner whack a giant monster with a brick with one than flee from it. Needless to say, she's also a bit impulsive about some things, say pranks and snide remarks. But, give Pip an assignment and she will be adultly serious about it until such time as she's finished or has mowed down the very possibility of doing so.
Harming one of Pip's friends can and will cause eternal grudges. /Becoming/ her friend may happen at any time after she's touched the person and may not be based on anything besides instinct.
It's not unusual to see her switch from cheerful to stoic to cheerful again in a very short space of time as the situation demands, or as she's purposefully trying to disconcert someone. She's more open about her past than one might expect, although that is somewhat dependent on other people broaching the topic.
She and her father are very close, but they might act more like siblings (or cats) to the casual observer.
If I might suggest this installment or this shorter one for a prose overview.
Non-Mutation Skills/Powers: Pip is a crack shot with any firearm .38 caliber or smaller; she prefers a .22 with a dot sight. Her size is pretty much the only thing stopping her from using larger guns. She’s also not bad with a knife, although her work with one depends rather a lot on her being able to surprise or disturb her opponents in some way. Her kinesthetic intelligence is excellent: she has the gift of sneak. Other interests include dancing, bartending and flatbear hugs. At the point in JoR she hails from, she has at least three bodies on her.
Memory(ies) Lost: Pip also has no recollection as to why she is in the city, but her belief she must have a reason is several magnitudes stronger than her father’s. She is determined to find out.
